the devil returns

It is just after 4:30am, and I need caffeine. So, I decided to go to my usual source: The evil Pepsi machine. Last night it gave me what I wanted. I was a fool to think it would do the same twice.

I was about to put my money in and the LED lights on it said exact change only. I only had two singles. This time I remembered the Pepsi machine on the 7th floor. So, I went down to the first floor, got into the other set of elevators, and went up to the 7th.

This machine is older, but has been more reliable in the past. I put my money in, and typed E6. Then, the bastard machine told me it was sold out. Sold out???? There was an entire row of Mountain Dew bottles. Defeated, I asked it to give me my money back, and it did, in quarters. I am sure the machine was laughing at me as I walked away.

Back down in the lobby, I told the guard what was up. He said that he has heard complaints about the machine up there. I mentioned that the one on the 3rd floor was demanding exact change, so he handed me a dime.

"SWEET!", I thought. Now I could get my sweet sugary caffeinated sustenance. I walked up to the machine and started putting quarters in. And it spit them right back out. It isn't even taking exact change. It is taking no change. The fucking thing is broken again. AGAIN. This is a nice machine. It has this arm that comes up to retrieve your beverage, and it then puts it in this thing that rotates so you can take it. But it hardly ever works. It is the devil.

I dragged myself over to the Coke machine, but it didn't have anything I wanted. Figures. I am not really a big fan of normal Coke from a bottle anyway.

So now I am sitting here, tired because the blood supply in my caffeine stream is increasing. Oh well.. Starbucks opens soon and I will be able to get a mocha at 6.

my quick review of Knowing

I watched the movie Knowing this weekend. Here is my quick review of it, which is really just 2 thoughts on it that I am going to share.

The Blu-Ray looked absolutely stunning. I have no complaints about the picture at all.

Now, if you decide to watch the movie, and you are enjoying it, get to about 2/3rds of the way through, and then end it. Do not continue. Pull it out of your player and put it back in its case or Netflix sleeve, whichever works for you.

That is all I have to say about it.

I also watched The Wrestler. Now that was a good movie.

it is called fossil fuel for a reason

Sarah Palin.. I am sure we all.. sadly.. know who she is.. wrote an OpEd in the Washington Post that had this line in it:

"We are ripe for economic growth and energy independence if we responsibly tap the resources that God created right underfoot on American soil."

No Sarah.. your great being in the sky did not create that. Dying dinosaurs did. You know.. those big lizards that lived millions of years ago. Yes Sarah.. I know this might come as a shock to you, but this planet is really old.
