This Bobby Jindal sounds like a complete twat. For those who do not know, he is the governor of Louisiana. He offered up the rebuttal to Obama's speech tonight. Here is something he said when discussing the stimulus:

" ...and $140 million for something called 'volcano monitoring.' Instead of monitoring volcanoes, what Congress should be monitoring is the eruption of spending in Washington, DC."

Now, should a Republican really be whining about spending when it comes to issues of natural disasters?

Living in Oregon has given me a certain perspective on volcanoes that I didn't have when I lived in California. On a clear day, when I am driving down Keubler and just about to get on I-5, you can see Mt. Jefferson, Mt. Hood, Mt. Adams, and Mt. St. Helens. From a higher elevation in Portland, like on top of a building or in an airplane, you can see Mt. Rainier up near Seattle. Guess what all of these are? Yes.. fucking VOLCANOES! And one of them started coughing a few years back(St. Helens).

So yes please, monitor these things.
