the worst game I have ever beaten

The year must have been 1986 or 1987. I was at Oakridge Mall with my mom and brother. We passed by Kay Bee Toy Store and I saw a rack near the entrance with a bunch of cheap Atari 2600 games. I had a Coleco Vision with that the 2600 adapter attached, so my mom said I could pick 1 game. Just 1. Hmmmm.. what to pick. Then I saw him. A character from one of my favorite movies. E.T.! I had to have it. So we bought it. I would not be surprised if I was the last person to buy this game at retail.

When playing it, I found the game to be incredibly frustrating and I wanted to destroy it. It sucked! I must have been a really bored kid at the time, because, I eventually beat it. Yep.. I beat E.T.

After taking E.T. back and forth through the different parts of the map, gathering Reese's Pieces and the phone parts, and dodging the FBI guy and the scientist, I located the part of the forest where the ship would pick me up. But then, after that, I had to find the location where I had to make the call. I walked all over that entire map, every last piece of it. And yes, it showed up. I never played it again.

Worst game ever. I wish at the time I had more clued in to the fact this game was so horrible. I think beating this game hardened me and allowed me to play other horrible games like Predator for the NES without breaking a sweat.

Youtube video of the game right HERE.

Ya.

I should grab a copy off Ebay and use it as a disciplinary tool for my son.

That might actually be too cruel....
