Scientology: South Park and the Rolling Stone Article

I just finished reading a long but very interesting article on the Rolling Stone site. The article was about one of my least favorite organizations on this planet we call Earth.

Rolling Stone: Inside Scientology.

Recommended reading for anyone who is interested in this group, especially if you are quietly laughing to yourself over the current "controversy" between them and the guys from South Park. In case you are unfamiliar with it, late last year, an episode of South Park aired that had Scientology as its target. Funny episode that lashed out at the "Church" and some of its members like John Travolta and Tom Cruise.

The man that did the voice of Chef, Isaac Hayes, is a Scientologist himself, and recently left the show, stating that his reason was that he could no longer tolerate the religious bigotry on the show. Funny, he never expressed any dissatisfaction when they were busy poking fun of Christians, Jews, Muslims, etc. Trey and Matt also pointed this out. Hypocrisy at its finest.

On Wednesday night, Comedy Central was going to play the Scientology episode. At the last minute, they decided to play something else. The rumor is that Tom Cruise, being the total douche that he is, got upset and threatened to pull out of any promotional work for the next Mission Impossible movie. This happening is being denied, but everyone knows that Scientology is behind both this and Isaac Hayes leaving the show.

The episode is easy to find on the internet. In fact, Xenu.net is showing it right now.

Tell your friends.
