New Wheels
It is about damn time.
After almost 8 years, I finally got a new car.
It is a nice new 2006 Mazda 3. The color is Black Mica.
My old car, a 1996 Mitsubishi Mirage, finally died on me on my way to work last Saturday. I sat on I-5 for 2 hours before the tow truck arrived, and after spending over $100 on towing, another $80 finding out what happened to my car, we decided it was time to get something new.
One Mazda dealership we visited in the Portland area was desperate to get me to buy a 2004 Mazda 6i. They said it was a pure 6, but no, it was the i model. How do I know? The lower horsepower, and the fact that you could tell that the badge on the back had been modified. The worst part about the car? It was gold. Yep. Gold. I am 28, not 65. There is no way I am going to own a gold car.
We bought the 3 in Salem, which worked out better because they will be doing all of my maintenance and it is close to home. Buying the car was relatively painless, and I easily got them to get close to the payments we wanted. I still wish I could have received a better interest rate, but I plan on re-financing it anyway later this year.
The car has a lot of features I wanted. Power steering, the Latch system for carseats, and of course, air conditioning. We have lived without it for far too long.
I should post some pictures of it soon. In fact, I will do just that.
Soon.
