Bitchslapping the Farmer
This was so satisfying that I had to come out of my shell and write about it.
So last night, as always, I was on World of Warcraft. I knew I would not be on for too long, since I wanted to get more sleep than I normally get.
I get on, check my auctions(I sold a stack of Mageweave Cloth), and then sit on my ass in the Orc city and talk to some guild members about gaming in general. A member of our guild that is somewhere in Asia was asking about the state of software piracy in the U.S. He said it is everywhere out there and there are stores that sell it out in the open, as opposed to here where if you try to do that the FBI will be at your door that day, ready to anally rape you with a device of their choosing.
So after awhile I decided that I was going to head to Aszhara to kill some blood elves and demons for some cash and hopefully, items to sell. One of the problems with Aszhara is it is one of the favorite spots of the "farmers", the people, mostly based in China, that farm items and gold to sell for real life cash. The accounts are frequently logged in 24 hours a day since multiple people play on them. These assholes also commonly make life difficult for you if you are killing mobs in their area. I have run into them before, but they have normally ignored me(at least the Horde ones have), until tonight.
The zone looked pretty empty. There was only one other player hunting the blood elves, but I got bored with them very quickly. So, I decided to switch to the demons.
I quickly noticed that there was another player out there hunting them. A level 60 human rogue to be exact, went by the name of Bettara. Since a lot of people like to go out here and hunt for items and cash, I was not sure if they were the farmer I am talking about at the time, so I watched them a bit while looking for demons of my own to kill.
They were killing them quickly and moving on, in addition to bouncing around a lot. Farmers love to do that for some reason. I could not communicate with her since she was Alliance. I turned on my sense demons spell in order to have a better chance of getting a kill first, and attacked a few. I noticed that Betarra was watching me, and then her PVP flag turned on(this is a PVE server). Definitely a farmer.
Farmers do not like it when you move in on their areas, and will make asses of themselves and try to steal your kills and be annoying. They also love to PVP the opposing faction to get them out of the area, which is probably another reason why they like to play rogues. Well, I am currently a level 54 Warlock, and I was NOT going to PVP them on my own. I would die quickly, even if I attacked first.
So, I chose to ignore her and kill some demons. She spent a lot of time following me around. Must have known about the warlocks ability to sense demons. I did what I could to avoid her, since I really just wanted to be able to hunt some demons quietly and calmly for a little while.
I decided to start fighting 2 at a time by using banish. What she started doing was attacking the mob that was banished, and as soon as banish wore off, it was hers. So, in response, I started actually casting spells at the other demons. It would make the fight harder, but I was able to kick some demon ass and my felhunter(pet) was kicking ass.
This rogue quickly caught on, and started using a ranged weapon to bring in more than one at a time. Honestly, I would say we were almost even in the amount we were killing, and her with the edge. I mean, she was level 60, and a rogue, so she was able to tear them up quicker than I was.
I mentioned to my guild what was going on, and one of the guild members quickly logged onto their main character to come join me and waste this rogue. He logged onto his level 60 Druid, and flew into the zone. I fought a little while I waited, always keeping a close eye on Bettara. She still had her flag up.
Mutiny, my guildmate, came in slowly in stealthed cat form. I watched him approach, and moved up also. He opened up on her, and I started casting.
Bitch did not last long at all.
There was much rejoicing as we stared down at her corpse.
He then told me to hide and we would wait for her to come back. We did not wait long. She came back and rezzed almost on top of Mutiny. The attack began again. She died, of course.
We waited for a bit, and she did come back to get her corpse again, went into stealth, and was gone. Mutiny logged back into his alternate character, and I stuck around for a few minutes to see if she would show. We had thought she logged.
It didn't take long before she showed up again. Mutiny came back, and as we were looking for her, I saw her near me, and she was USING HER DAMN HEARTHSTONE! She warped out, and was gone.
Before I logged off, and I logged into my Alliance character to see where she went. She was in the Hinterlands, quite far from where we were.
It was nice to be able to beat down a farmer and hope the opportunity comes again soon. They are really fucking annoying.
