Was My Prediction Correct?
About a year ago, I said that 2004 could very well be the biggest year of my life. Was I correct?
Yep. Conner made this year for me(Conner is my 8 month old son for those of you that have never read anything on this site before.. the few of you that seem to return.. and yes.. I seeeeee you... will be familiar with him).
Speaking of seeing those who visit this place, most people seem to get here from looking up the term "bored at work" on search engines. I do occasionally see people getting here from blogger or yahoo profiles. Someone searched for me by name in the ICQ search area and got here. Who the hell was that? *grins and wonders*
I love caffeine in Mountain Dew form.
Anyway, back on topic, this year was huge. I find a lot of the things that used to important to me have been pushed to the side, while things like my son smiling at me when I come home from work are the most important. Sitting in front of the TV, playing a game, and then feeling these two little hands on my shoulders as he lifts himself up to stand by me is the greatest thing in the world. Of course, afterwards, he usually sees the controller and tries to take it or tugs on the cord. But then he smiles and of course, I can't be mad at him.
The first real smile he gave me was when he was about 3 months old. I was sitting with him, rocking him and feeding him his bottle, and smiled at him. He stopped sucking on the bottle and smiled at me. Of course, his mouth was covered in formula and the bottle was still in his mouth, but that only made it cuter.
So yep, 2004 was huge, and now that my shift is just about over, I will get ready to go home, see the new year in with the family, and play WORLD OF WARCRAFT OH YEAH!
I need to stop drinking so much damn caffeine.........
