Changes
Tomorrow is my last day with New Edge Networks. I have found a new job in downtown Portland, and will be moving on. This is the longest I have held a job. I have been here over 3 years now.
I have really mixed feelings about leaving New Edge. I am happy to leave because the company because I know I will never see a raise in pay or a chance to move up. I will probably miss out on stock options, but that is a small price to pay. I am not happy about leaving the people. I like a lot of the people I work with, and that says a lot. I normally do not like most of the people I meet.
My first job, a company called McCloud's in Modesto, CA, was very easy to leave. I got laid off a few months before moving up to Oregon. I was not upset about it. Second job was Petsmart in Salem, OR, and that was not hard to leave. I liked some of the people there, but for the most part, I was very ready to leave. Third job, same situation. I had no problems leaving Safeway.
Stream in Beaverton was a little different. I was sad to go because I had friends that worked there, but I had developed a deep hatred for working there. I was very glad to leave when I did, since people were having a hard time finding employers that would hire out of Stream.
This new job will leave me very little time to do any of the useless stuff I like to do at this current place. I doubt I will be updating this site while at work there, so I will end up doing it from home. The title will need to be changed, especially since I am rarely bored at home. I rarely ever chat, so that will not be affected at all. Instead of spending free time browsing the web or reading, I will be going over technical shit. Constantly. I need to think about my future. Especially now.
