Last night, I rented Super Mario Sunshine.
Not a bad game so far, but the graphics don't seem very polished. The colors seem a little washed out in a lot of areas, and it has more jaggies than some of the other Gamecube games I have played. Don't get me wrong. It does look pretty good, but I would think Nintendo would give it more love, since this is one of their flagship titles. I know the Gamecube is capable of more. Metroid Prime looks absolutely stunning. The only other games I have played are Eternal Darkness, which does look good, and Animal Crossing, which is, well, not a graphically intensive game, but it doesn't need it.
The gameplay so far is very different than the previous Mario games I have played. Now, I know this sounds bad, but I have very little experience with Mario 64. Yes, I know, that is bad. I should pick up a used copy sometime, since my N64 library consists of 2 games(Zelda and Mario Kart). In this game, so far, there have been no enemies to jump on. I haven't gotten far(I have 1 shine), but your weapon is a water cannon then you use to spray water(duh) to clean up paint, and you can use it to hover for a short period of time. The water cannons controls took a little while to get used to.
I will hopefully get a better impression of it tonight.
Devil May Cry 2 is being released this week. I CAN"T FUCKING AFFORD IT! ARGH!!
